I started my career as a Graphic designer, first in print and then web technology and interface design. I was employed for many years by BBC Technology (later Siemens Business Services). Here I worked with clients on user experience and usability across different platforms. Some of our clients included Scottish Enterprise, University of Edinburgh and BBC Northern Ireland.
I have always had a strong interest in education and completed a MSC in Computer Based Learning at Queens University Belfast. All my work has involved communicating information, starting where people and at and empowering them to move forward. My work with the Creativity Hub involves distilling information to its simplest form and communicating it visually in our tools and diagrams.
Recently, I have been lecturing in Trinity College, Dublin, teaching design for mobile technology to masters students. Here I have focused on broad design analysis and drawing out the students’ awareness of their innate design ability.
I am very excited about our latest venture, working with Unipace to bring creative awareness and design technology material to primary schools in the UK.
