Pecha Kucha is a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
We visited Essen Spieltage, the international board game convention. Here we met and were interviewed by the wonderful BoardGameGeek folk about Rory’s Story Cubes.
Last month we spoke at Refresh Belfast. In our presentation ‘The Little Red Hen Approach’, we talked through our journey developing Rory’s Story Cubes from an idea through to a viable retail product.
The slides illustrate the highs and lows and show the ‘do it ourselves’ approach we tend to take.
The Little Red Hen is a story we both remember from childhood. One day the little red hen found some grains of wheat and asked her farmyard friends if they would help plant them, but her friends refuse. She then asks them to help her take the wheat to the millers to be ground into flour, but again her friends refuse. Next she asks if anyone will help take the flour to the bakers to make into bread, but yet again no-one is willing to help. At last she asks who will help her eat the bread and suddenly all her friends say that they will be more than happy to help…
Rory spoke at Pecha Kucha Dublin in June. He emphasised three attributes (Curiosity, Empathy, Imagination) that we encourage through our work with The Creativity Hub. Pecha Kucha is a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
RTE Nationwide ran a piece on how we are trying to promote creativity through Rory’s Story Cubes. We have already received a very positive response from viewers.
A big thanks goes out to Stephen Macken who filmed and edited the piece.
